Record what changed after the storm
Ground-level photos of fallen branches, damaged gutters, or displaced roofing can help establish what you observed. Hail size alone cannot establish the condition of a particular roof. A roof inspection is needed to distinguish impact damage from wear or other causes.
Connect findings with the repair scope
Ask for photos identifying the affected slopes and materials. If you report a claim, retain the insurer’s estimate alongside the contractor’s findings and ask about differences. Coverage depends on your policy and the insurer’s decision.
